Azmed Imaging Detection En 80

With radiology departments becoming increasingly overloaded and the need for faster, more reliable diagnoses growing, artificial intelligence (AI) is proving to be an essential tool.

It is in this context that Evolucare and AZmed have decided to combine their expertise to offer radiologists automated report generation integrated directly into the Evolucare Imaging platform. This collaboration perfectly illustrates the spirit of innovation within the Evolucare ecosystem, in line with Pact4all’s commitments to excellence, innovation and tangible improvements in the daily lives of healthcare professionals and patients.

AZmed, French pioneer in medical AI

Azmed

Founded in 2018, AZmed’s mission is to improve working conditions for doctors while contributing to the quality of care. The company develops and markets Rayvolve, a range of AI-powered diagnostic assistance software for standard X-rays.

Rayvolve includes several specialised applications:

  • AZtrauma: automatic detection of traumatic bone injuries (fractures, dislocations, effusions). The software works on all peripheral limbs (hand, wrist, elbow, forearm, arm, shoulder, hip, pelvis, leg, knee, ankle, foot) and on the spine.
  • AZchest: automatic detection of chest injuries (condensation, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, cardiomegaly, acute pulmonary oedema, rib fractures, pulmonary nodules).
  • AZmeasure: automatic osteoarticular measurements (podometry, pangonometry, coxometry, spine).
  • AZboneage: automatic bone age assessment based on the Greulich & Pyle method.

These CE Class IIa medical devices enable faster and more reliable interpretation of examinations.

A shared vision with Evolucare

Evolucare and AZmed came together with a shared goal: to integrate AI directly into the daily workflow of radiologists.

Evolucare Imaging, as a comprehensive RIS-PACS platform, is the preferred interface for doctors to access, analyse and report on examinations. The integration of AZmed algorithms was therefore a natural choice.

  • This integration addresses a key challenge: simplifying the daily lives of practitioners. Radiologists retain control over medical diagnoses, but save time, reduce the risk of oversights and enjoy a seamless experience.

Faster, more secure workflow

In practical terms, when the radiologist opens an examination, they find a pre-filled report: type of examination, lesions detected, summary conclusion. The practitioner retains control, of course: they can correct, add to or validate the text before it is sent to the patient.

The business impact is immediate:

  • Time savings on report writing,
  • Standardisation of reports for greater reliability,
  • Reduced cognitive load for doctors,
  • Improved quality of reports thanks to automatic structuring.

Patients also benefit: faster diagnosis, earlier discharge summaries, and more time to discuss the results with their doctor.
This reallocation of clinical time embodies a more humane, patient-centred approach to healthcare.

Seamless technological integration

The key to this success also lies in technical integration:

  • Transmission of AI results via API and standards such as HL7,
  • Automatic merging in the RIS text editor,
  • Intelligent filtering of enriched results (annotations, boxes) to preserve the patient journey and avoid misinterpretation.

« A real competitive advantage for Evolucare, as the publisher maximises the potential of AI by preserving the radiologist’s experience while ensuring patient safety.», adds Benjamin Melloul.

A strategic and meaningful partnership

This collaboration perfectly illustrates Evolucare’s ecosystem approach: forging strategic alliances with innovative players to continuously enrich its offering.

By bringing together a PACS/RIS publisher and an AI specialist, this partnership meets two major requirements:

  • Ease of use: no additional tools required, with AI integrated into the existing work environment.
  • Clinical excellence: more reliable, faster and more standardised reports.

Common perspectives

The Evolucare–AZmed roadmap already plans to go further:

  • Extend report generation to other modalities (scanner, MRI, mammography).
  • Improve the accuracy of conclusions (anatomical localisation, detailed characterisation).
  • Develop new features such as automated patient triage based on AI results.

« We are building a lasting partnership with Evolucare, where technological innovation and clinical impact go hand in hand », concludes Benjamin Melloul.

With AZmed, Evolucare demonstrates its commitment to integrating the best in innovation into its ecosystem.
This approach is in line with Pact4all: putting innovation at the service of healthcare professionals and patients for more reliable, faster and more humane medicine.
