The health and social care sector: a well-established sector that is constantly evolving

Social services organisations operate within a highly structured environment and must balance the quality of care they provide with regulatory requirements and rigorous management of their financial and social affairs.

Following several years marked by national digital transformation projects, priorities are now refocusing on core functions: payroll, human resources, budget preparation, regulatory compliance and the interoperability of information systems.

French Collective Agreements 66 and 51, the management of sheltered employment, obligations towards funding bodies, the french nominative social declaration (DSN), and the phased introduction of electronic invoicing from 2026: these developments require suitable tools, designed specifically for the medical and social sector.

In this context, the issue is no longer simply combining software packages, but structuring a coherent and reliable information system. It is with this in mind that GESSI was designed: an interconnected medical and social care ERP system designed to support organisations over the long term.

The healthcare and social care sector operates within an extremely regulated and demanding framework. Our role is not merely to incorporate these constraints into a tool, but to anticipate them in order to ensure the long-term safety of care homes.

Gessi: an ERP system designed to meet the challenges of the real world

Gessi is not a generic solution that has been adapted to fit existing needs. Its architecture is based on an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by associations and the specific management requirements of the sector.

The production of provisional budgets, administrative accounts, French EPRDs (Statement of Revenue and Expenditure Forecasts) and French ERRDs (Statement of Actual Revenue and Expenditure) follows a structured approach, in line with funders’ expectations. The management of collective agreements and social regulations is integrated from the initial configuration stage.

This systemic approach helps to avoid organisational silos and ensures consistency between financial, social and administrative data.

“Designing an ERP system for the healthcare and social services sector isn’t just about piling on features. It’s about understanding the interplay between payroll, administration, accounting and regulatory requirements.” Didier Chaumont, Product Expert – Evolucare

Payroll management: accuracy, compliance and reliability

In the healthcare and social services sector, payroll is a strategic priority. It involves complex contractual rules, a large volume of contracts and strict reporting requirements, notably the french DSN.

The accuracy of payslips therefore depends on a thorough understanding of the variable factors arising from work schedules, absences and leave.

We ensure Gessi’s operational reliability by co-developing the software with professionals who follow a highly structured and standardised framework. Their feedback on the software’s functionality and usability is vital in helping us design a high-performance tool that meets their business needs.

Evolucare’s product and R&D teams work closely together to prioritise the integration of legal and social changes. Regulatory deadlines are also anticipated and incorporated into the solution’s release schedule.
This ensures that users can operate the software securely and logically—covering data entry, validation, calculation, editing and archiving—thereby minimising the risk of errors and strengthening regulatory compliance.

Electronic invoicing: a development already integrated into Gessi

The reform of electronic invoicing represents a significant step for associations and healthcare and social care organisations. From September 2026, the digitisation of supplier invoices and the issuance of electronic invoices will gradually become mandatory.

In this context, having an ERP system capable of integrating these changes without complicating internal operations is essential. The interconnection of financial, accounting and administrative modules enables a gradual and controlled transition.

With GESSI, electronic invoicing integrates seamlessly into existing processes. Invoices are generated in formats compliant with the required standards, incoming and outgoing flows are automated, and the data can be used directly in accounting without any further processing. This approach enhances the traceability of transactions, secures exchanges with partners and funders, and significantly reduces the risks associated with re-entry.

For finance departments and administrative teams, this translates in practical terms to greater visibility over cash flows, more reliable data and time savings in day-to-day invoice processing. Seamless integration between HR, scheduling and accounting. One of Gessi’s key strengths lies in its interoperability with Imago’s HR-Planning module.

« The software programmes are fully integrated via our single database. When a contract is created, a variable is entered or a payslip is approved, the information is automatically updated across the system and the entries are posted directly to the accounts. »

Sandrine Ribeiro, Lead Developer – GESSI

In practical terms, this shared architecture eliminates gaps between departments. A contract entered in HR is immediately available for use in payroll. Absences, leave and scheduling variables are automatically fed into the payslip calculation. Once payroll has been approved, journal entries are generated without any further action.

This continuity of data ensures consistency at every stage of the process and significantly reduces the risk of errors. For administrative teams, this means smoother management, less manual work and a more relaxed working environment on a day-to-day basis.

A collaborative effort with schools

Gessi is committed to a collaborative approach with stakeholders in the healthcare and social services sector. Functional updates are driven by user feedback and regular dialogue with organisations.

This ongoing collaboration enables the ERP system to be tailored to the specific needs of finance departments and HR managers.

Structured support from the Customer Success Manager

The performance of an ERP system does not depend solely on its technology. Support from the software provider plays a crucial role in the success of projects and in ensuring the smooth running of organisations.

The Customer Success Manager acts as a dedicated point of contact, capable of understanding the organisation’s structure, its priorities and its specific constraints. Their role is not limited to responding to requests: they anticipate needs, schedule regular follow-up meetings and ensure that teams are able to make full use of the tools.

The CSM ensures that clients don’t feel left in the lurch once our solutions have been deployed. I carry out regular follow-ups, keep clients informed of regulatory changes and direct enquiries to the relevant teams.

Beyond acting as an operational liaison, the CSM supports organisations in understanding regulatory changes, identifying potential improvements and coordinating with product, support and training teams. This cross-functional approach streamlines internal communication and ensures the smooth implementation of changes.

This close working relationship also fosters a lasting bond of trust and ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the ERP system, in line with the realities on the ground.

Gessi: a sustainable foundation for medical and social care management

Today, healthcare and social care organisations are seeking solutions that combine regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and organisational consistency, as well as support from their software provider.

Gessi meets these expectations by offering an interconnected, structured and scalable healthcare and social care ERP system. Its single database, native integration of contractual rules and synchronisation with IMAGO’s HR and Planning modules make it a tool tailored to the realities on the ground.

In a demanding yet manageable regulatory environment, having an ERP system designed specifically for the sector is a strategic asset. Gessi supports care homes in this process, offering expertise, a structured approach and continuity.
