A new momentum for digital health innovation in Hauts-de-France

Evolucare, a French healthcare software company headquartered in Villers-Bretonneux (Somme), is joining innov’a, the Amiens incubator and accelerator network. This membership strengthens our ties with local start-ups, researchers, healthcare professionals and local authorities. With one goal: innovation that makes a difference for healthcare professionals.

Evolucare and innov’a: two organisations rooted in the Amiens health ecosystem

Evolucare: a healthcare software company founded in the Somme

For more than 30 years, Evolucare has developed software solutions for public and private healthcare organisations. Our headquarters are in Villers-Bretonneux, just outside Amiens.

Our solutions cover four main areas: hospital care, with the HopitalWeb electronic patient record; critical care, including anaesthesia, operating theatres and intensive care; medical imaging, with Imaging; and social care, with Imago, from disability services to child protection.

Since 2017, Evolucare Labs has led our collaborative innovation strategy, particularly in artificial intelligence. As part of Gruppo GPI, Evolucare combines strong regional roots with an international outlook.

innov’a: the Amiens Métropole innovation network

Founded in 2017 as Amiens Cluster and later renamed innov’a, the network supports innovative businesses and start-ups in the area. Its founding members are the City of Amiens, Amiens Métropole, Amiens-Picardie University Hospital, the Amiens-Picardie Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Université de Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV).

Its incubator and accelerator are based at the Quai de l’Innovation in Amiens. Health is one of its two priority sectors, accounting for 29% of the projects supported when its new roadmap was adopted (Le Journal des Entreprises).

innov’a also leads an initiative to map the area’s health stakeholders. This forms part of the strategy promoted under the “Amiens Health Quarter” brand (La Gazette France).

Why health innovation is no longer a solo endeavour

Healthcare and social care organisations are undergoing rapid change. They must address information system interoperability, the introduction of AI into clinical practice, data security and evolving patient pathways.

For a software company, meeting these challenges means bringing together very different areas of expertise. Healthcare professionals contribute insights from daily practice. Researchers open up new possibilities. Start-ups test agile approaches. Local authorities and funders create the conditions for scaling up.

Yet these stakeholders rarely interact in their day-to-day work. An innovation network like innov’a creates precisely these opportunities to connect.

What joining the innov’a network brings to Evolucare

Direct access to local start-ups and health projects

Each year, innov’a selects a new cohort of project leaders and early-stage companies. The cohort launched on 1 October 2026 includes a health project focused on the oral microbiome (innov’a).

For Evolucare, this is an opportunity to identify innovations that complement our solutions. It is also a chance to share our experience in hospital and social care settings with young companies.

Stronger links with the university hospital, the university and public-sector stakeholders

Amiens-Picardie University Hospital and UPJV are among innov’a’s founding members. Their involvement helps bring research, care and industry closer together.

These exchanges directly inform the work of Evolucare Labs: experimentation, collaborative feature development and validation in practice with healthcare professionals.

New opportunities for European partnerships

On 16 October 2026, innov’a and Amiens Métropole co-hosted a meet-up on “health, innovation & Europe”. Participants shared their experiences of European cooperation. They also learned about the role of the Brussels Office and spoke with experts in developing European projects.

Evolucare already operates internationally. For us, these initiatives open up new opportunities for partnerships, funding and market access.

“Joining innov’a means choosing to work together. Our headquarters have been in the Somme for more than thirty years. Contributing to the area’s health ecosystem and exchanging ideas with start-ups and researchers is the best way to develop innovations that closely meet healthcare professionals’ needs.”
