Ai Critical Care

At Evolucare, artificial intelligence in critical care is not science fiction. It is a concrete reality, already in use in our solutions for operating theatres, anaesthesia and intensive care.

Transparent, useful and responsible, our AI is designed to support medical teams in their decision-making.

A three-tier AI strategy

For François Potevin, Product Marketing Director at SAVE, Evolucare’s AI strategy is based on three complementary pillars, all designed to improve care efficiency while ensuring data security and sovereignty.

AI at the service of developers

Our own teams use AI tools to accelerate and improve the reliability of software development processes.

AI to facilitate recurring tasks

Integrated into our products, it automates repetitive and time-consuming tasks such as documentation and data analysis.Integrated into our products, it automates repetitive and time-consuming tasks such as documentation and data analysis.

AI as a clinical decision aid

In sensitive contexts such as anaesthesia or intensive care, we develop algorithms capable of suggesting decisions based on structured data, while ensuring complete transparency.

Concrete use cases already deployed

The strength of our approach lies in the fact that it is based on real needs identified in the field. François Potevin details two particularly compelling use cases:

 1. Assistance with documentation during anaesthesia consultations

Documenting a patient’s medical history and treatments is a time-consuming but crucial task. Thanks to artificial intelligence, our tools are able to automatically recognise the medications and dosages mentioned in prescriptions and add them to the file.

« Evolucare has been offering automatic prescription recognition using AI for several years now. The aim is to free up medical time. » – François Potevin

 2. Optimisation of the operating theatre

Scheduling an operating theatre is a complex task. The number of rooms, team availability, operating times… there are so many variables to optimise. AI can be used here to suggest optimal schedules to maximise occupancy rates, avoid delays and streamline patient care.

Transparency and sovereignty: our core principles

One of the key features of the Evolucare approach is the traceability of AI-generated information. We have made the following choice:

  • clearly identify content generated or suggested by AI,
  • explain the logic behind its generation, so that professionals understand how the tool arrived at a recommendation,
  • control training data sets to ensure their quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

« We don’t just display a result generated by AI. We explain how the algorithm arrived at that suggestion. » – François Potevin

It is this transparency that builds trust. And that is also why Evolucare favours sovereign AI, whose data and models do not depend on external powers, thus ensuring that French institutions have complete control over their digital environment.

AI in critical care: measurable benefits

At the SANTEXPO 2025 conference, healthcare professionals were able to test our solutions and see for themselves the benefits of these AI integrations. The feedback was unequivocal: time savings, better organisation of the operating theatre, reduced documentation and greater safety.

Our ambition is not to replace medical expertise, but to enhance it. And it is in the most demanding services, such as critical care, that these gains are most valuable.

Conclusion

The artificial intelligence integrated into our SAVE solutions is not a promise for the future. It is a tool that is already in use, designed for healthcare, co-developed with users and rooted in clinical reality.

Responsible, transparent, sovereign: at Evolucare, AI is at the service of medical progress – and never an obstacle to humanity.
