ANESTHESIA+

Fully web-based and natively integrated into the Evolucare Save suite, this innovation supports healthcare professionals throughout the surgical pathway by facilitating the sharing of a single source of information, ensuring continuity of care and promoting safe practices.

The digital transformation of hospital technical departments is continuing, and the expectations of healthcare professionals are evolving: simplified access to information, role-based usability, interoperability and data security are now at the heart of IT projects. Against this backdrop, Evolucare is continuing to develop its integrated Save suite, designed to support the patient’s journey through surgery.

With the SFAR conference just a few weeks away, discover our feature on Anesthesia+, the new web-based anaesthesia module that completes the vision of a unified suite covering anaesthesia, the operating theatre and post-operative care.

Anesthesia+, the new direction for the Save range

In this interview conducted at SantExpo 2026, François Potevin, Product Marketing Director for Save, and Samuel Bouedo, product expert, discuss the objectives of Anesthesia+, the challenges involved in making the entire Save range fully web-based, and the role of artificial intelligence in the anaesthesia practices of the future.

A new step in the strategy for the Save range

For several years now, Evolucare has been developing a comprehensive approach to the surgical patient’s journey through its Save range. Designed to support patients from their anaesthesia consultation right through to recovery, this suite of specialised solutions facilitates the flow of information between the various parties involved in their care, whilst integrating seamlessly into the digital ecosystem of healthcare facilities.

With Anesthesia+, Evolucare is taking a further step forward by extending the approach already in place in the operating theatre and recovery room to the anaesthesia department. Now fully web-based, the solution is designed to ensure functional and ergonomic continuity, facilitating data sharing, minimising the need for re-entry of data and simplifying the day-to-day user experience.

With Anesthesia+, Evolucare is thus pursuing its ambition to offer a consistent experience throughout the patient’s surgical journey, whilst simplifying communication between the various stakeholders involved in their care.

A single source of information to improve continuity of care

Data flow is one of the key challenges in modern patient care pathways. In many healthcare settings, the same information still has to be entered or checked several times during the course of a patient’s care, creating a risk of errors and placing an additional administrative burden on staff.
With Anesthesia+, the information collected throughout the surgical pathway is stored in a shared database. Allergy details, medical history, medication records and monitoring data are thus automatically carried over between the various modules in the Save range.

This single-source data approach enables teams to devote more time to patient care rather than to searching for or re-entering information, whilst enhancing the continuity of care.

Ergonomics tailored to the working practices of anaesthetists and anaesthesia nurses

The development of Anesthesia+ draws on more than twenty years’ experience in the computerisation of anaesthesia practices. The Evolucare teams have chosen to retain the features that have proven their worth in practice, whilst integrating them into a modernised technological environment.
The interface has been designed to meet the specific needs of anaesthetists and State-Registered Anaesthesia Nurses (IADE). The systems for intraoperative monitoring, medication administration and vital signs management have been designed to provide rapid access to essential information in a context where every second counts.
This focus on usability is at the heart of the Save range, developed in collaboration with clinical experts to provide tools that are tailored to the realities of the clinical setting.

A pragmatic approach to artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the healthcare sector, but its value lies above all in its ability to meet the specific needs expressed by healthcare professionals. At Evolucare, every innovation project begins with identifying a business use case before assessing the most appropriate technology to address it. This approach has led to the integration of several artificial intelligence solutions within the Save range, drawing on both developments carried out by the Evolucare teams and partnerships with specialist organisations.

One of the most notable examples is the integration of Posos’ technology, which facilitates the scanning and analysis of prescriptions during anaesthesia consultations. This feature enables patient treatment details to be retrieved more quickly and helps to streamline consultation preparation.

La gamme Save also utilises Calmedica’s solutions, which automate certain interactions with patients by sending text messages and questionnaires throughout their care journey. This approach helps to improve follow-up and preparation for treatment, whilst reducing the administrative burden on hospital staff.

Other artificial intelligence features are developed in-house by the Evolucare Group. This is particularly the case with the tool to support the management of antibiotic prophylaxis in anaesthesia, designed to assist healthcare professionals in applying best practice and to enhance the safety of patient care.

More recently, Evolucare has integrated the solution developed by PraxySanté, which is based on speech recognition and ambient AI. This technology listens in on exchanges between the healthcare professional and their patient during the consultation, automatically transcribes the conversation, identifies relevant medical information and generates a structured report. The aim is to enable the practitioner to remain fully focused on their patient whilst reducing the time spent on medical documentation.

This strategy illustrates Evolucare’s commitment to putting innovation at the service of practical applications. Whether it is to automate certain administrative tasks, facilitate the collection of information or enhance patient support, artificial intelligence is used as a tool to simplify the day-to-day work of healthcare professionals and enable them to devote more time to patient care.

Innovating whilst ensuring digital trust

The integration of new technologies into healthcare software entails high standards in terms of security and data protection. To address these challenges, Evolucare relies on a dedicated governance framework that assesses projects against regulatory, technical, operational and security criteria. The Group’s strategy also prioritises the use of French or European technologies where appropriate, whilst regularly subjecting its solutions to cybersecurity testing to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities.
This approach aims to provide healthcare organisations with a framework of trust that enables them to fully realise the benefits of digital innovation whilst safeguarding the confidentiality of health data.
