At the 2026 SFAR Congress, Evolucare is showcasing Intensive+, the latest development in the SAVE range of intensive care patient records.
This is the aim of Intensive+, Evolucare’s specialised solution designed for intensive care, critical care and neonatal units.
With over 15 years’ experience in critical care, Evolucare continues to invest in order to offer an ever more effective solution, designed in collaboration with healthcare professionals and tailored to new practical applications in the field.
In this interview, François Potevin, Director of Critical Care Product Marketing at Evolucare, looks back at the history of Intensive+, the major developments made since 2022 and the outlook that will shape the coming years.
Over 15 years’ expertise supporting intensive care units
For over 15 years, Evolucare has been supporting healthcare organisations with solutions dedicated to critical care. This expertise is underpinned by dozens of deployments in hospitals and university hospitals, including Nîmes University Hospital, a long-standing client in the field of intensive care for over twelve years.
Beyond the technology itself, this experience is underpinned by a multidisciplinary team comprising, in particular, former healthcare professionals – intensive care nurses, subject matter experts and consultants – who work alongside healthcare organisations on a daily basis to adapt solutions to the realities on the ground.
This close relationship with users is one of the cornerstones of the Evolucare Save range, a specialised software suite designed to support critical care professionals throughout the patient’s care journey.
Another milestone achieved with the acquisition of HIM
In 2022, Evolucare strengthened its expertise by acquiring HIM, a German software provider specialising in an intensive care patient record system deployed in more than fifty hospitals, including Munich’s two university hospitals.
This acquisition was driven by a clear ambition: to offer French healthcare institutions a next-generation solution capable of addressing the new challenges facing intensive care units:
- rapid technological advances
- tighter regulatory requirements
- healthcare professionals’ growing expectations regarding usability and mobility
- the need for interoperability with the hospital information system
Since this acquisition, Evolucare’s R&D teams have thoroughly modernised the solution, resulting in the launch of Intensive+.
A fully modernised solution
A modern web architecture that complies with regulatory requirements
Intensive+ is based on a fully web-based architecture, which simplifies deployments, facilitates maintenance and speeds up functional updates. The solution also meets the regulatory requirements applicable to certified Class IIa medical devices. (Certification pending under the new MDR Class IIb regulation)
This development enables organisations to benefit from a more sustainable, more agile platform that is easier to integrate into their IT environment.
Ergonomics designed in collaboration with healthcare professionals
EIn intensive care, every second counts. That is why the user experience of Intensive+ has been completely redesigned in collaboration with doctors, nurses and specialists.
The solution now offers:
- an intuitive interface
- touchscreen functionality
- a responsive display
- optimised use on mobile devices right at the patient’s bedside
The aim is to minimise the number of steps required, streamline data entry and make it easier for medical and paramedical teams to adopt the solution.
This approach is part of Evolucare’s commitment to developing solutions designed in collaboration with users to simplify their day-to-day work.
Ever more specialised business functions
Since 2022, Intensive+ has been enhanced with numerous features designed to meet the specific needs of critical care departments.
Key developments include:
- summary views to facilitate clinical monitoring
- advanced management of medication administration via different routes
- automatic calculation of calorie and electrolyte balances
- precise management of osmolarity in neonatology
- integration with hospital information systems to ensure continuity in the medication pathway
- integration of the neonatology prescribing module developed by Logipren
This strategy involves offering specialised modules tailored to the specific needs of each critical care unit.
Innovation at the heart of the roadmap
Intensive+ thus benefits from the Group’s investments in several areas:
- artificial intelligence developed in-house with INACIA
- the integration of intelligent voice recognition features through the partnership with Praxy Santé,
- and ongoing developments in usability, interoperability and cybersecurity.
These innovations are designed to support healthcare professionals in their day-to-day work whilst enabling them to devote more time to their patients.
A solution now being rolled out in French schools
Following several years of technical, operational and regulatory investment, Intensive+ has now entered a new phase in its development.
Since 2025, the solution has been gradually rolled out across several hospitals and Regional Hospital Groups (GHTs), notably at Fontainebleau Hospital.
This milestone marks the start of a new phase of roll-out to hospitals wishing to have a specialised patient record system for their intensive care units.
An ambitious roadmap for the years ahead
LThe development of Intensive+ continues, following a roadmap drawn up in close collaboration with users.
Upcoming developments will focus in particular on:
- assistance with the coding of procedures using artificial intelligence
- automatic generation of a summary of the patient’s stay
- the prediction of certain clinical risks
- intelligent management of wounds and pressure ulcers
- further ergonomic optimisations for mobile use.
As with all Evolucare solutions, these developments are guided by a continuous improvement approach based on feedback from user organisations.
