A radiology practice that has been with Evolucare since 2019
The practice where Thierry Ripoton, the operational coordinator for medical imaging, works is staffed by seven radiologists, four radiologic technologists, and about ten secretaries. Its main location houses a center for aesthetic medicine and surgery, sports medicine, nephrology, and psychology, while a second location complements this range of medical imaging services. These facilities, which treat an average of 150 patients per day, chose Evolucare Imaging more than six years ago. The group thus joined the approximately 300 facilities and economic interest groups (GIE) already equipped with this solution in France and its overseas departments and territories.
When he joined the practice in 2019, Mr. Ripoton inherited an aging IT system. The transition to the new software provider took place shortly thereafter, between 2019 and 2020: the practice migrated its entire operation to Evolucare’s RIS and PACS. “The existing system was becoming a bit outdated. As time went on, we were introduced to the RIS/PACS solution; all of our staff found it intuitive and easy to use. So we decided to centralize the RIS/PACS platform in one location for much smoother management,” he summarizes.
A Day in the Life of a Multi-Site Practice
Six years later, the RIS and the PACS from Evolucare Imaging manage the entire patient journey within the practice: from check-in to administrative management, right through to the viewing tools (viewers) for radiologists.
What stands out in Mr. Ripoton’s testimonial is the consistent satisfaction over time: “We’re satisfied—whether it’s with usability, the user experience, or the doctors’ experience. Whenever a question or request comes up, support is responsive enough to provide the right answers.”
This continuity is reflected in the software’s ease of use, a key consideration for a team with a constantly changing staff.
“The tool is truly intuitive, customizable, and quick and easy to master—you just have to follow the tabs,” explains Mr. Ripoton.
This observation is shared by medical technologists and radiologists, who also use the viewer and voice recognition on a daily basis without any difficulty.
A Fundamental Issue: Seamless Access to Results
Beyond the tool itself, Mr. Ripoton takes a broader view of the profession’s current challenges in the digital age. For him, the central issue remains seamless access to results for both patients and prescribing physicians. Reports and images must be able to circulate in a simple and readable format.
This challenge is now exacerbated by the proliferation of communication channels (digital print servers, email delivery of reports, and distribution via “My Health Space”). Without clear coordination, this abundance of channels can complicate the patient’s journey rather than simplify it.
Listening that drives product development
This long-standing relationship has been marked by an ongoing dialogue regarding software updates. For example, the firm requested the ability to sort secondary criteria in alphanumeric order for managing supplemental health insurance plans—an improvement expected to streamline the administrative office’s workflow.
Another key and more fundamental expectation is the ability to check the history of medical exams directly from a shared database. This feature is invaluable in a setting where patients rarely bring their previous medical images with them.
“This is a real time-saver that we’ve been looking forward to, especially at the front desk, where this verification currently takes up valuable time that isn’t dedicated to the patient,” explains Mr. Ripoton.
From a technical standpoint, the entire group praises the responsiveness of Evolucare’s support team, driven by a commitment to continuous process improvement and customer follow-up. This adaptability ensures service continuity, even in the most urgent situations.
Toward Phase 2 of the french Ségur Plan and DRIMbox
Six years after adopting the solution, the practice is already preparing for its next major step: the transition to Phase 2 of the Ségur Digital Initiative, combined with the deployment of the DRIMbox (a nationally standardized radiology interface in France). The project is seen as the next major evolution of the equipment.
This project is part of a broader initiative: Evolucare Imaging has obtained dual Ségur Phase 2 certification—for both the RIS and the DRIMbox—effective June 2026—a guarantee for client facilities that the transition will be based on a solution already compliant with regulatory standards, without the need to wait for a future upgrade.
Mr. Ripoton has specific expectations for this development. In particular, he anticipates time savings when comparing images—a daily challenge in mammography and fracture follow-up, where the patient’s medical history directly influences the quality of the diagnosis. Added to this is easier access to the shared medical record. “Being able to easily access medical records will streamline patient care at the practice,” he explains, adding that this development will enable faster diagnoses for patients, leading to better collaboration with referring physicians.
For Evolucare, providing long-term support remains an absolute priority: “ Supporting a practice over several years allows us to stay attuned to needs that evolve over time. Today, our role is also to calmly prepare our clients for pivotal milestones such as Phase 2 of the Ségur reform, ensuring that the transition occurs seamlessly, without disrupting their daily operations,” emphasizes Badreddine Bennameur, Application Support Manager at Evolucare.
A collaboration that continues to unfold
Beyond the numerical metrics, this testimonial illustrates the foundations of a strong, long-term partnership: rapid adoption by teams with diverse skill sets, a user-friendly interface that facilitates internal training, and ongoing dialogue that shapes the product roadmap. By successfully navigating Phase 2 of the Ségur initiative and the DRIMbox, the firm and the software provider reaffirm a relationship built on mutual understanding and operational performance.
